Commonly known to friends as Pok, Ah Pok, PokX, Pork. In rare occasions will be known as *gasp!* Paul and in some extreme cases, also known also Pok Pok or even Wonky Pok (depressing isn't it?). Sigh, basically they like to just use part of my name because it's easier to pronounce (lazy, lazy). Awww but what are friends for other than making fun of your names anyway?

    Because nothing says Happy Merdeka more than a petrol hike.

    Sometimes at this time of the year i do a carefree, fun post about Malaysia, in conjunction with Merdeka.

    I don't think i can bring myself to do so this year though.

    Either i've become more self aware and cynical about my home country since 4 years ago or things have changed, just for that *little* bit worse.

    Recent events seem to suggest we're somehow becoming worse off, that 1 Malaysia is merely a facade behind a very tense underlying problem.

    It has almost literally become a rug covering the dirt underneath it.

    On a lighter note, this is a very creative video. I especially like how it ends. Heh.

    Happy birthday Malaysia. Make a wish.
